I had the old 2800 and just upgraded to this model awhile back. I have got to use it for a few day trips so far. I really like how the bottom section is so much larger. Also the section against your back is much more functional. I have not packed out any animals with it yet but Just from loading it down with gear I find it much more comfortable then the older model. This will be my pack for day trips and up to 4 days. Any one looking for a versatile pack should give this 2800 some serious consideration. The people at story creek are very helpful as always.

Badlands packs can NOT be beat. The 2800 is the perfect balance of size and carrying load. It is the ultimate in carry in light and pack out heavy!! I was successful the first time out with this pack with my first elk. Having the right gear DOES make all the difference and Badlands should be your starting point. The 2800 like all Badland's packs are built tough ,dependable , light and quite. All features on their packs are well thought out for hunters by hunters. You will never be able to appreciate a harness system like the Badlands until you are 2,000 feet down and approximately 6 miles away from camp with 150LBS of meat on your back. Elk hunting is hard and that is why we love it and Badlands makes gear that is dependable year after year so we can continue to do what we love. Did we mention the warranty ? How about a unconditional guarantee for life!!! NO OTHER PACK EVEN COMES CLOSE. Good hunting , shoot strait, apologize to no one.

Great pack. Easy to carry light loads but even better to carry heavy loads. Used it for a day pack, three day pack and meat hauler. Nothing better.
