Our Story
When I was young, the world was a simpler place where a boy of 8 could hop on his bicycle and make the short trip to the Mississippi, fishing along the river’s edge. I became fascinated by the lures I discovered in magazines, cutting photographs of Lazy Ike lures, Bass, Bluegill and Pike for the walls of my bedroom. Every spare moment was spent tossing surface lures. It worked - I was hooked past the gills.
My passion for the sport grew from that first strike. When my gear began to overtake the house, my wife made a request: find somewhere to store it! I decided to design a cabinet to do just that. When it was done, I realized that if I had such a need, there must be others who did as well – so began Story Creek, Inc.
At Story Creek, we create heirloom quality custom furnishings that will last for generations. Our handcrafted cabinets are available in a number of sizes and finishes to suit your needs.
These furnishings reflect my passion for the sport and the lifestyle that accompanies it – simple and uncomplicated. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Mike Zaudke was brought in as the V.P. of our marketing and sales department in the spring of 2008. He has a strong passion for the outdoors and spends much of his spare time pursuing game of all sorts across the country. An avid archer and knowledgeable outdoorsman, Mike fits right in with the Story Creek staff.
